The Book of Digital Photography

The Book of Digital Photography
Customer Review: This is the new number one guide to digital photography
I have completed reading this book and have come to the conclusion that this is one of the best books for a comprehensive grounding on digital photography. The author attempts to cover practically all the possible topics that you could think of to get a good grounding in digital photography. In many ways he has succeeded!
Michael Freeman’s Digital SLR handbook was my previous choice, but this book is easily the best single volume guide there is now. In that book, Freeman manages to cover quite a lot of ground, but doesn’t do so as thoroughly as Chris George has with this publication.
This book is divided into a logical sequence of chapters, separated by broader topics namely; capture, manipulation and output. There is good coverage of composition, and the author has explained some of the more fundamental aspects of the art and craft of photography. For this reason alone his book stands out from the the other ‘All in One’ titles published. He delves into shape, form and colour in enough detail to satisfy the enthusiast. He also manages to provide good coverage of the skills and techniques used in manipulating images and gets into a good level of detail with regard to photo editing. His brief but informative chapters on monochrome and the use of channels are really enjoyable to read.
It is these two things: the coverage of artistic issues and the concise explanations of post processing that make this the BEST guide for beginners and more experienced enthusiasts.
Customer Review: Fantastic book
I’ve read several books on Digital Photography and others on Photoshop Elements. Of all the books, I have found this one is the most useful by far. It is a nice thick book (320 pages) and the format is perfect. Each page covers a single issue (all grouped into catergories), with the following page showing great examples. On these pages you get a good overview of the topic covered as well as an diagrams needed. The book covers everything from what camera, to photography techniques, to composition, to manipulation, to output. It covers point and click and SLR, and gives you professional advice in a way which is easily digested without being dumbed down. It is easily the best mine of information I have found and I have tried a few.
The format, as I say, works really well. With each page being a single topic, you can refer to it at will, in this aspect it works as an encylopedia. It also works as a course and is easily interesting enough to read through, with so many practical tips, which will enhance your photography.
The only other book I would really reccomend is How to Photograph Absolutley Everything, by Tom Ang. This is more for specific information on a scene or inspiration as it has some excellent ideas for what to shoot. All in all though, if you’re looking for a solid book, you can read to learn about Digital Photography, and one that you will frequently refer back to, this is as good as you will find.

So your an amateur photographer, and need a reasonably price bag that going to make you “look good, and take better pictures… perhaps not! The i-nique dude bag (can be a dudette bag as well.. hence the pink colour!)is the perfect entry level photo bag for the smallest cameras on the market. So who needs a big bag anyway thats going to take up serious luggage space on your holiday, to fit all the paraphernalia that you dont really need! So keep it small and compact, get rid of the tag along nonsense that just gets in the way. Clip it onto your belt buckle so it does not even get classed as hand luggage when you check in for that long awaited holiday!
Customer Review: Excellent case
I bought this camera case for my husband at Christmas. I also bought him a Pentax camera and it fits perfectly. He seems very happy with it. It’s funky, padded and it looks great. I received the case very quickly too which was even better! So all in all I would thoroughly recommend this case!
