The Book of Digital Photography

The Book of Digital Photography
Customer Review: This is the new number one guide to digital photography
I have completed reading this book and have come to the conclusion that this is one of the best books for a comprehensive grounding on digital photography. The author attempts to cover practically all the possible topics that you could think of to get a good grounding in digital photography. In many ways he has succeeded!

Michael Freeman’s Digital SLR handbook was my previous choice, but this book is easily the best single volume guide there is now. In that book, Freeman manages to cover quite a lot of ground, but doesn’t do so as thoroughly as Chris George has with this publication.

This book is divided into a logical sequence of chapters, separated by broader topics namely; capture, manipulation and output. There is good coverage of composition, and the author has explained some of the more fundamental aspects of the art and craft of photography. For this reason alone his book stands out from the the other ‘All in One’ titles published. He delves into shape, form and colour in enough detail to satisfy the enthusiast. He also manages to provide good coverage of the skills and techniques used in manipulating images and gets into a good level of detail with regard to photo editing. His brief but informative chapters on monochrome and the use of channels are really enjoyable to read.

It is these two things: the coverage of artistic issues and the concise explanations of post processing that make this the BEST guide for beginners and more experienced enthusiasts.

Customer Review: Fantastic book
I’ve read several books on Digital Photography and others on Photoshop Elements. Of all the books, I have found this one is the most useful by far. It is a nice thick book (320 pages) and the format is perfect. Each page covers a single issue (all grouped into catergories), with the following page showing great examples. On these pages you get a good overview of the topic covered as well as an diagrams needed. The book covers everything from what camera, to photography techniques, to composition, to manipulation, to output. It covers point and click and SLR, and gives you professional advice in a way which is easily digested without being dumbed down. It is easily the best mine of information I have found and I have tried a few.

The format, as I say, works really well. With each page being a single topic, you can refer to it at will, in this aspect it works as an encylopedia. It also works as a course and is easily interesting enough to read through, with so many practical tips, which will enhance your photography.

The only other book I would really reccomend is How to Photograph Absolutley Everything, by Tom Ang. This is more for specific information on a scene or inspiration as it has some excellent ideas for what to shoot. All in all though, if you’re looking for a solid book, you can read to learn about Digital Photography, and one that you will frequently refer back to, this is as good as you will find.

So your an amateur photographer, and need a reasonably price bag that going to make you “look good, and take better pictures… perhaps not! The i-nique dude bag (can be a dudette bag as well.. hence the pink colour!)is the perfect entry level photo bag for the smallest cameras on the market. So who needs a big bag anyway thats going to take up serious luggage space on your holiday, to fit all the paraphernalia that you dont really need! So keep it small and compact, get rid of the tag along nonsense that just gets in the way. Clip it onto your belt buckle so it does not even get classed as hand luggage when you check in for that long awaited holiday!
Customer Review: Excellent case
I bought this camera case for my husband at Christmas. I also bought him a Pentax camera and it fits perfectly. He seems very happy with it. It’s funky, padded and it looks great. I received the case very quickly too which was even better! So all in all I would thoroughly recommend this case!

Developing Vision and Style: A Masterclass in Landscape Photography (Light and Land): A Masterclass in Landscape Photography (Light & Land)
Customer Review: Very Disapointing
I was really disappointed by this book - these are some of my favourite photographers and most of the photos, including those of the guests, were fantastic - some simply awesome. The text, unfortunately, I found plainly indulgent. Yes, it was nice to know how each photographer saw his creative development, but hey, I really wanted more about the photos - how did they plan them, what settings, filters, etc. And the text for photos were of such small print that it was simply annoying to read. Sorry guys, I still think you are great photographers, but the book - a wasted opportunity, I think.

Customer Review: Thought-provoking and inspiring
This book came as an “editor’s choice” from a book club that had sent titles along the lines of The Ultimate Guide to Wedding Photography and Mastering Digital Whatever. I was on the point of sending it back unopened, but the package was damaged, so I had a look anyway…

And I decided to keep it after all. And dipped in deeper and enjoyed it. And liked it so much that I ordered the hard-back version, along with the author’s previous book on a special deal.

Although all of the photos are of the highest quality, seeing them all together with commentary and reflections has helped me understand more clearly what I really like and aspire to in photography.

I was going to withhold a star because some of the photos go across the fold. But checking again, it’s just a couple and it would be niggardly to award this fine book anything less than five.

Highly recommended.

Customer Review: Great little camera
Bought this camera semi-used. It is a great little camera. Easy to use….if you want to use the automatic setting or if you want to get a little fancier. Whatever the case this camera does it just fine. Easy to carry. I got the memory stick with this and it is great for holding at least 500 pictures. I have had some of my pictures printed and they came out GREAT! The battery lasts quite long and the best part is that it’s rechargeable. I would definitely recommend this great little camera.
Customer Review: FINALLY! a digital camera that takes great shots!!!
Finally a great camera that takes great shots!! This is my 2nd Sony W55 camera. My first one I bought on ebay used, I should have known better! That one eventually, the lens kept popping in and out and the camera wouldn’t function. I’m hoping this won’t happen to this camera. I went to Circuit City this time to buy it though, and purchased the 2 year warranty. I’ve gone thru 6 digital cameras in 4 yrs. This is BY FAR the best quality of pictures! My first digital camera was also a cybershot but it was a 3.2mp (i forgot which model) It was a good camera, however, not great at close up shots, and evening pics. And eventually, that lens stopped working for me also. Sony has yet to prove me wrong that a good camera can last longer than 3 years!!! If you do ebay, as I used to in the past, this is a GREAT camera for that!!! I used to have to always “fix” my pictures after I took shots. This camera, I never have to do any editing. I ALWAYS have red eyes in everyone’s cameras, this one. I haven’t seen one picture yet! Maybe I’ve been lucky to take pictures in better lighting perhaps. Anyhow, the reason I got this camera is of course the reviews, but my biggest reason is for evening/dark shots. Takes FABULOUS night shots!!! I also have an Olympus FE-210 takes good pictures, however the night shots. IMPOSSIBLE! Anyhow, for the price, this is really a great camera. I haven’t quite mastered all the “special” things about it yet. But for me, #1 rule for digital camera has to be that it takes great general shots. Anything “special” is just an added bonus that I will rarely use.

The Complete Guide to Professional Wedding Photography: Creating a More Profitable and Fulfilling Business

The Complete Guide to Professional Wedding Photography: Creating a More Profitable and Fulfilling Business
Customer Review: Brilliant!
I am one of the many who seem to have a vast library of books on wedding photography. Up to now no one has wrote a bookabout the subject better than Mark Cleghorn. Then Damien Lovegrove came along. This book tells you everything you need to know about wedding photography, including all the good and bad bits of running your own business. The photographs are very well composed and give wonderful ideas, but as Damien says ‘Dont copy’ the images. Also look on his training website and buy the wedding show CD, this gives more images and inspiration and is very well worth the money.

Customer Review: In a league of it’s own.
Wedding photograhy books come in all levels of usefullness as you would no doubt know if you’ve looked through the book stalls at Focus on Imaging. In this book Damien has created a new league of Wedding Photography books - and this is the only book in it.

The content covers everything you need to know from what apertures to use, fill flash, natural lighting, poses, planning, digital workflow, jpg’s, business issues, marketing and sales, and how to make profits, and more. It is liberaly covered in photos with technical details and a few words on why they work. It’s all in plain conversational English and a real joy to read. Don’t ponder - just buy it - it’s less than the price of five magazines.

I ordered the Canon CB-2LX Charger Canon CB-2LX Battery Charger for SD700 IS, SD800 IS, SD850IS, SD900, SD950IS & SD870IS Digital Cameraand she received it in time for her Christmas photos. It works fine and she was pleased with the quick response to our order.
Customer Review: Give us a break!
Not sure why there’s such a love-fest here over this charger?? Fact is, we’re talking about roughly eight bucks in parts & plastic that Canon is marking up too much. After spending so much on the camera, it’s insulting to the notion of “customer service” that they are charging this price for a replacement charger. At least they could make it a rapid-charger enhancement or something - after all, why should it take two hours to re-charge your camera? Listen Canon, if you want five-stars from customers, treat us better, and sell replacement parts at cost. No need to take advantage of us just because we lose a part that makes our wonderful camera as useful as a stone.

Customer Review: No Regrets HERE!
After taking back a couple of D40s, few pixels out on screen, I have never regretted this Camera. I’ve been a point and shoot for a few years but have have always wanted to get back to a SLR when I was in college. But then I was printing my shots in the gloomy Darkroom with chemical smells and slowness beyond imagination. This is glorious to get these kinds of shots and instant feedback. I love the stock lens 18-55 mm and have found it is in use 95% of the time vs the 55-200 mm VR I also have. You can’t go wrong with this camera. And don’t be mentally fooled that 6.0 MP isn’t enough. For the amateur using the computer for his Printing, this is all you need. Use the extra money and get a speciality lenses and have fun.
Customer Review: Amazing pictures for the money
I wanted to make the move into digital format for my SLR, and I have to say this was probably one of the best investments I’ve made for a camera. I’ve been shooting since I was 12 years old with SLR’s, my first camera was a Nikon FG,all manual tank of a camera. I never thought that a digital SLR could compete with my film camera, but I’ll tell you what, it certainly does. The biggest thing i’ve noticeed is the color that it captures, the saturation is unbelievable, skin tones look amazing, and landscape photos bring out the most brilliant colors, yellows, reds and greens alike. The focusing on the camera is quick, and precise. I do recommend purchasing the SB-400 flash as well though. The built in flash is nice, but it suffers from the same downfalls as built in’s on point and shoots, it just washes things out. This camera is great for beginners, as well as more advanced users. The menu’s are easy to read, and simply laid out, you can find practically any setting you may want in no time at all. But if you want to take pictures fast, throw it in program, bounce the SB-400 off the ceiling and take away, the pictures all come out great! If your a more advanced user the options available to actually edit your photo’s after the pictures been taken, as well as the freedom of having a full manual setup is a dream, and easy to use as well. The 2 lenses in the kit should fulfill any need for the average photographer, and to be honest, I haven’t even had an oppurtunity to try the 55-200 lens yet, the 18-55 has been incredibly versatile, and the close focusing ability of the lens allows for some amazing close ups for flowers and such. I still can’t believe the quality of the pictures that this camera is capable of producing. I went to a butterfly exhibit in my town, and took a picture of an amazingly bright blue butterfly. Unfortunately I was only able to get about 3 feet from it, couldn’t get closer due to barriers, but even so, with the 18-55 zoomed in on it, I further zoomed in and cropped the photo at home, and blew it up to an 8×10, and it was perfect. The color of the butterfly was just as bright, and just as crisp, and there was no distortion from the additional zooming in and cropping of the original. The display on the back of the camera is just as fantastic as the rest of the camera, it’s bright (actually had to dim it down in the settings menu) crisp and clear. If your looking for the perfect digital SLR to get into, this is the one, it’s simple, VERY light weight, and the pictures are absolutely amazing.

Lighting for Portrait Photography (Revised Edition)

Lighting for Portrait Photography (Revised Edition)
Customer Review: Fantastic
Great tips for lighting. Great lighting diagrams. If you want to learn about portrait lighting look no further.

Customer Review: OK but not for digital
This book has a few problems and whilst the pictures of the placement of lighting set-ups are very useful the final pictures you see are not a true representation. Most of them have been taken using medium format cameras using film and the resulting print examples are more effected by processing than the original lighting. Also I am amazed at how many of them are out of focus and blurred, OK this may be for arty effect but I think you are better off getting a general photography book than buying this. Or even better go on a lighting course.

It’s ok but last only a few hours, at least with my TZ3. I’d buy the Panasonic one. I know for next time.
Customer Review: Very Good Performance
I got this as a spare battery for my Panasonic Lumix TZ3 digicam. But it works really well to be called as a “Spare”. The performance is fantastic, and it lasts me for over 150 shots. Does not perform as good as the original battery supplied by Panasonic, but for the price difference I would recommend it any day. Can be definitely had as a backup battery.

A story of the magic of a medium, long lost in the throws of our digital and cynical age. Why isn’t this film available new ?????

As old as I am I enjoyed this film with my granddaughters and was captivated by the magic. I revisited my childhood innocence as I watched the smiles on the children’s faces light up. A warm family portrayal of a hoax borne from two little girls from England, who wanted to keep the magic of fairy land alive, in today’s society we have many dreams dashed, re-visit your inner child and re-live that childhood dream of fairies and queens, goblins and kings!

Customer Review: Good reference guide for D70 & D70s owners
The first 40% of the book is a more colourful, in-depth, helpful version of a Nikon manual. There are colour pictures and notes highlighting what the author is referring to. Owners of Nikon D70 and D70s can relate to this book well. The book is written more for the amateur or beginner photographer who has the D70. This is evident in the first couple of chapters. The first chapter is a quick guide on the functions & features of the camera and what these do and when to use them. The second chapter focuses more on settings of the camera. This is ideal for novices who want to explore the camera but don't know what each of the functions do. The writer provides tips on exposure, shutter, metering, focusing, flash, lens selection and flash selection. The other 60% of the book focuses on taking pictures. This is where the book becomes another photography book but the best thing is Nikon D70 users can relate to it. There are lots of example pictures taken by the author which he goes onto explain how he took them and what equipment he used. All this information is laid out in a clear table with set-up, lens, lighting, exposure & camera settings. These examples are useful for inspiration. The author also does a great job using 'kit' lenses with his example, this I thought was very sensible as most people will have a kit lens to start off. Overall the book is ideal for your camera bag as a reference and a quick guide to your Nikon and you will be able to relate to majority of the topics and examples covered.
Customer Review: Choose another book
I am an Englishman livng in France, so when I got my D70s the instruction book was in french, I bought the book thinking it was going to be as comprehensive as the manual, but was extremeley dissapointed. I found the whole book misleading, going off on tangents regarding external flash manual focus etc etc, over half the book is devoted to how to take very cheesey photographs, by a not very good photographer.

The Creative Photography Handbook: A Sourcebook of Over 70 Techniques and Ideas

The Creative Photography Handbook: A Sourcebook of Over 70 Techniques and Ideas
Customer Review: More of a reference book
I now own 3 books by Lee Frost which surprises me because I was not a big fan of the first one I received as a present (Photos that sell). This one however is much better in my oppinion because it concentrates more on how to take good pictures rather than what you should use.

First, forget the idea that this is a handbook as it’s almost A4 in size. The first section of the book contains chapters on lighting, composition, focusing, colour and the darkroom (ok so a darkroom is not relevant to digital photographers but it is a short chapter).

The second section of this book is what I was looking for as a digital photographer as it has usable chapters on how to photograph people, landscapes, nature scenes and movement effects. By concentrating on the content of the images rather than the equipment used, Lee shows what makes a good photo, not just one that’s technically perfect.

Reading this book inspired me to go out and take more pictures which is what a good photography book should do.

Customer Review: Great stuff!
This really is an inspiring book, worth returning to again and again, the photographs alone are worth buying this book for!

Whether you shoot film or digital the information in this book is excellent, clearly and simply written with good examples and interesting photographs which demonstrate his point… Lee Frost is top class I recommend you buy all his other books, I intend to!

Customer Review: Brillilliant!
I had the sony DSCH9 camera for Christmas and it has proved to be just brilliant! The amount of features the camera has is breathtaking! Here are a few of my favorites: The zoom function on the camera is amazing, having 15x optical zoom with no loss in picture quality is extremely useful. The camera performs very well in all lighting conditions and often can take many shots indoors with no need for the flash to be used! It also has a very clever infra red mode allowing you to take pictures in near darkness! Another cool feature is the slide show mode which allows you to see all your pictures and play some of your music through either the camera screen or a HD TV. The pictures look amazing on a HD TV. Overall I would say this camera is perfect for a novice or intermediate camera user and is a great price for what you actually get. Without going down the SLR route I honestly don’t believe you can buy a better camera!
Customer Review: A Great Camera
This Sony camera is perfect for non-professionals. So unless you are Ben and just want to take simple pictures - this camera will be for you. It is simple to use and the 3″ tilting screen is helpful and saves having to get on your knees if you are taking low shots!! The black version is obviously just the same and would save you a little, but silver is the new black which is the new white or something like that?! A great buy, has excellent features and nice high quality res on the photos.

Camera Lucida: Reflections on Photography (Vintage Classics)

Camera Lucida: Reflections on Photography (Vintage Classics)
Customer Review: I’m sure it’s very good if I could only understand it
This book was recommended to me by a philosopher friend who thought I might enjoy it as I’m about to embark on a photography course. I’m not a serious academic, but I’m not an idiot either and I have to admit I found this a pretty tough read. I understood the general meaning, but felt the language and structure of the book meant that I missed out on being able to really appreciate what seems like quite an exceptional piece of work with some fascinating alternate views. I’d do your research on Barthes before you buy this to determine whether you might or might not be comfortable with his style, otherwise, give it a go - might just take a couple of reads!

Customer Review: A Classic in the Theory of Photography.
Barthes wrote this book out of urge to discover the real nature of Photography. In the first part of the book he establishes his own system to do that. This system is based on two “cathegories” that Photography contains, studium and punctum. In the second part he wants to come closer to eidos, the nature of Photography. Therefor he takes one of his photographies, showing his mother as a child. Out of his emotions by this photography he builds the theory, often comparing it with another art, Film and sometimes also with Theatre. The book can also be recomended to wider public, not only philosophers, because it is written in a simple, understandable way, but is still opening some major questions regarding its subject.

Customer Review: Did not like
I bought this thinking because of the reviews here that I would love it. Boy was I wrong. I played with the settings and tried to get my pics to come out better but all I got was washed out pics and the clarity was terrible. Movie mode was even worse. I took a video clip of my daughter walking and her face looks like squares of dancing colors. There is a Best shot button (something like that) with tons of options but by the time you get the one you want the photo you were going to take is more than likely gone. I have to admit, I am usually a Canon user but was willing to go to Casio if it was better. Needless to say I returned the camera and I am going back to Canon.
Customer Review: Best Little Camera Out There!
When I was looking for a camera, I wanted three things: It had to be small enough to carry in my purse, take great pictures (regardless of the movement of the subjects or the photographer), and it had to have a long battery life. The Exilim EX-Z1080 excels at all of these. After doing extensive research, I finally bought this camera. I’ve had it for a month now and have no complaints. The battery life on this camera is amazing! The pictures are high quality, without too much lag time between shots. I have not used the movie mode, since that was not the reason I bought the camera. When I do, I will be sure to update this review.

Customer Review: EOS 20D for beginners
As a beginner i found this to be a well written no nonsense book.Jargon is translated into an easily understood real world ianguage. It should be used to complement the instruction manual rather than replace it.Seasoned photographers i suspect will find it too basic but for the beginner it is ideal.
Customer Review: Basic, no advanced content
I got this book after buying and being delighted with similar camera specific books in the past (Hove Photo guide for EOS 50E). For reference, I’d consider myself an advanced amateur, so if thats not the way you view yourself, you’ll probably have a different view of the book to me. The author is obviously proficient with the camera, and used it in practice, but there’s precious little of the invaluable real-world users tips I was hoping for. Most of the content is basically a verbose expansion of the manual and leans on Canon’s press literature. There are also a couple of technical inacuracies, which is slightly unnerving. Theres little expansion into the peculiarities of the digital workflow and it seems definitely pitched at the complete newcomer to photography, rather than the newcomer to digital photography. For a newcomer to photography, this could be quite useful, giving a broad if shallow overview of nearly everything. For anyone else, I’d definitely recommend reading the manual instead, and getting a more advanced book that delves into the complex and fascinating world of digital photography, many of which contain in-depth camera specific tips anyway.

Customer Review: D200 plus Nikon training course
This was my first digital SLR after years of Canon and Mamiya film cameras. I decided to attend one of the 2 day Nikon training courses specifically for D200 owners and I am so glad I did - there are levels of menu options and short cuts that I would have never found without training. It has given me confidence in using a very fine tool. Having spent years using Aperture priority mode and a separate light meter I have found the confidence with the D200 to grab shots in program mode; it seems to know what I am photographing. To those who are concerned with precise exposure there is a bracketting mode that can be set to range in steps you can set
Customer Review: Pro camera at prosumer price
I recently bought this camera after my Nikon D2H started to develop a fault. I have been very impressed with this camera as it is almost the same as the top-end Nikon cameras like D2H & D2x difference being its not fast as the D2H (8fps) or powerful as D2X (12.4mp) or has the shooting capacity (800 shots), and body shape both of which have verical grip but all other features and controls are present. It is bulit superbly, with sturdy ergonomics and the feel of robustness that gives the user the confidence of longevity. The camera is packed full of features, too many to go through here, but I love the control placements, access, large screen, comfortable grip, and 5fps burst. I use my camera for sport, wedding and event photography and it has proved itself easily. I also have a D80 which i use as a 2nd body, this too shares a lot of features like the D200, but is no way near as sturdy or fast, although it is easier to use at times. The D80 does have better scrolling using the jog dialswhich makes going through pictures in preview mode much easier. I would recommend good optics, Nikon is renowned for having excellent optics, but at the higher end of the scale these are expensive. I would also suggest buy external flash gun (Nikon SB800) additional cells and a good qulaity camera bag. I have been a Nikon man for a while and whilst the Canon camera package is good, I doubt I can convert myself over especially at this range of the price bracket, there really is not a DSLR that is so talented.

Looks nice and is strong but it swings about if you don’t bunch it up in your hand. Infuriating

Just check you only use this item with the Ixus range. I used one with a powershot s30 and it started to fray due to the weight of this camera. The one I have had since and used only with my Ixis II has been perfect.

Customer Review: Don’t bother
I bought this book in the belief that it would provide more detail about the 5D than the instruction book did. For example why are the high and low ISO (expansion) ranges protected? We all know that noise increases with ISO speed so why the need to restrict the range? The low is supposed to be due to poor latitude of the sensor - something I found on a web site and wanted to check out. But what are the implications of this and how do I compensate for it? When would it be good to use the low range? It was this sort of information that I hoped the book would contain. The book is written by a person who has used the 5D with the instruction book and added some padding. So if you are expecting some greater insight in to the 5D than the instruction book provides this is not the book. The few photos it contains are in black and white. Recommendation not worth buying. Spend your money on a bigger memory card and experiment.

The Genius of Photography

The Genius of Photography
Customer Review: An excellent cultural guide.
This book is an excellent guide to the culture of photography, examining various significant photographers, mostly 20th century. There could be more actual photographs but the text is intelligently written, making interesting links between various movements and styles. It tends to jump around the timeline a bit but is all the more interesting for that. Overall, a very good, if possibly subjective, view of photographic history which does not become bogged down in academia.

Customer Review: An excellent read
I don’t normally go for TV tie-in books but this book is an excellent read, and it makes you think about what photography all about.

The pictures are mainly the same as the TV series but photographs don’t come over well on the box, far better to appreciate them reproduced properly and with time to see them properly.

It is a good introduction to many previously little known photographers and I was sorry when I had finished reading it as I would have liked more of the same!

Digital SLR Cameras and Photography for Dummies (For Dummies)

Digital SLR Cameras and Photography for Dummies (For Dummies)
Customer Review: A worse dummy than I thought!
I think I must need a ‘Total Idiot’s Guide’ as this was not what I thought it would be.

Being a complete beginner with dSLR, I thought this book would be a step-by-step guide on ‘How To….’ I was a bit wide of the mark - although the book says a lot about why you should do this over that, etc it left me lost on how to actually do it. So I’m using my camera on Auto until my Nikon book arrives. Let’s hope I’ll have more success with that one.

Customer Review: excellent book
Bought the book on the strength of the previous two reviews as I’ve not really been keen on the “dummies” books previously.

This one, though, is excellent. If you’ve spent a chunk of money on a new digital camera (like my EOS 40d!) you really should spend another ?10 and read this, and actually start to understand how it all works! (If you’re already expert then you won’t be needing this, but understanding even how the digital sensor works is really interesting)

It’s printed on good quality glossy paper (unlike some of the dummies books) and includes some really nice images.

Well worth it

Customer Review: Wonderfully Sick
This is a exellent film, well made , good effects and very “Twisted” script. Not for the faint-hearted. Once banned in the “Video-Nasty” scares of the 70/80s. WARNING THIS IS A REGION 1 DVD it will only play on multi.region DVD, other wise you will either get nothing or a black and white picture {this needs to be seen in color}.
Customer Review: Really made me cringe. ‘Real’ Horror!
I consider myself to be a hardened horror fan. But I wasn’t ready for this film -it really did give me the creeps. It’s the way it’s shot and the convincing character of the Maniac that just makes the whole thing more believable than the average horror. This is how you imagine real-life psychotic killers to be. I was starting to dread the next slaying whereas I’m usually relishing it with glee. **SLIGHT SPOIL.. I especially found the first-person perspective during some murder scenes a bit discomforting as it’s as if the viewer is invited to relish the thought of participating in such nastiness themselves. So I didn’t really enjoy this as much as something like “House of a Thousand Corpses” which is more my kind of fantasy horror jolly. But that doesn’t mean this isn’t a ‘good’ film -it’s just a bit TOO realistic for me to easily enjoy as ‘entertainment’. I felt a bit exhausted by the end and although, like I say, I think it is a good film, I didn’t feel compelled to watch it a second time. Those seeking the most graphic depictions of gore a la ‘The [rubbish] Hostel’ may not find this film as impressive as these reviews suggest. -This isn’t a splatter-fest and there isn’t THAT much visually explicit gore (in the UK version anyway), the impact of the film is in the gritty realism and believability of the deranged Maniac.

Customer Review: not reliable
had my camera for two years, first year was great nice pictures, did everything i wanted. second year started with problems, have since been looking at the same camera on e-bay and found several for sale with same problems.
Customer Review: It WAS good.
This camera was fantastic for about a year, with the large lcd screen and excellent picture quality. Buy it. However, it broke, for once it wasn’t my fault, it just broke- won’t turn on, and if it does it turns itself off whenever you take a picture. The customer service is quite appalling, and I can’t send it for repair. grrr.
